Notes: This will be the seventh running of the Brendan’s Home Run 5K, put on by the Brendan Grant Foundation. Beginning and ending at Belmont High School, this event consists of a 5K walk, run, and two children’s races (400 meters and 800 meters).

Established in 2001, the Brendan Grant Foundation is a non-profit organization created in memory of Brendan Grant, a young athlete who unfortunately passed away after suffering injuries while playing the sport he loved. According to the website, the foundation is committed to youth development in the area, and also has the Brendan Grant Scholarship Fund – a fund that grants scholarships to graduating Belmont High School seniors looking to go to college. It is a great organization that does a lot for the youth of Belmont, and this event is just one way that they raise money. All proceeds from the race go directly to the foundation.

–The featured race will be updated once a week for a race taking place on the upcoming weekend. Unless I am not participating in an event that weekend, this page will be filled with information about the race that I will be personally running that week.–
